16-Jul-2005 -- The start of our summer holidays and finally a chance to visit another CP after a long dry period of 7 months (see 48N 12E). We were traveling to Blighty and instead of blasting the direct route up through Germany we would travel west through Austria and visit 47N 11E and maybe 47N 10E as well.

An uneventful trip took us via Innsbruck and then along the Ötztal, eventually to Hochwald. We parked the car near the Gasthaus Hochwald and made our way up along the trail towards the CP. Half an hour later we were there.

We took the usual photos, me with my camera and Andrea with hers. Luckily for me that Andrea was also taking photos because after taking shots of the GPS I forgot to turn off the macro function and my N/E/S/W pictures were all blurred (its been a long time since I did this and the brain wasn't in CP hunting mode yet). We walked a bit further past the CP and spotted a farmer below us repairing the trail with sods of grass. The road leads further up the mountain but we didn't have the time to explore. There followed a pleasant walk back to the car and a drive to 47N 10E.
