28-Apr-2001 -- Although the weather was not that great as we expected and it
would be the third visit of this confluence we decided to jump on our
motorcycles and take a little ride. As we drove along the Oetztal Valley we
first missed the junction to Granstein and had to turn around in Soelden. On
our way back from Soelden we found the junction and drove up the steep and
narrow road to Granstein (this road must be fun in winter). We drove further
to a place called Hochwald and parked our motorcycles. From there it was a
short 20min walk to the confluence.
The knee-deep snow that covered parts of the way and our motorcycle clothing
made the accent a little sweat intense. (Snow and motorcycle boots can be
good for some slippery experiences.) Finally we arrived at the confluence,
had a little picnic, took the pictures (unfortunately the picture of the
gps-reading is not very good, but with a little imagination the coordinates
N47.00.000 E11.00.001 can be identified) and made our way home.
