It really IS that wet!

The normal early start and to be honest I am not expecting too many problems. It is cloudy and damp though and the forecast is for rain and wind....

144 miles and nearly 4 hours later - seems slow? You should see the roads, I actually think I made quite good time considering.

Park up at the crossroads. I had given some thought to parking up in the road that parallels this one and tramping in across the fields just to add a bit of interest :-)

Didn't bother as I have another one to do today. It looks like this patch of ground is on it's own. Let me explain, the nearest cottage is about 100 yards away and there is a wire fence separating their garden from the CP patch.

There is a car at the nearest house so I went to check to be on the safe side. I knocked a few times but I couldn't get anyone to come to the door. Oh well, just go for it.

As previously noted by Christopher Anton the ground while not looking wet is like a sponge here, extremely wet underfoot. At times almost bog like and yet it is 30 feet from the road, strange.

Does make you wonder though how they managed to build the abandoned brick building and just how deep the foundations are.

The CP is in the triangle marked by two trees and the brick building, averaging didn't improve anything, but I did get a height reading. Accuracy? on the spot of course, did you expect anything else?

This appears to be some sort of neighbourhood watch area, yet in all the time I was there nobody paid me the slightest attention.

The gps pictures show that it is possible to stand on either of the roads off the crossroad and still have a successful visit. Difficulty rating 0/10.
