18-Feb-2010 -- Cheryl and I were en route from our home in suburban Washington DC to the take off point of a Caribbean cruise in Miami. Nearing the end of the first day of our journey from the remains of the record snowfall in DC, we diverted only a little to visit this confluence at N34 W79. As noted by those that preceded us, the confluence lies near the edge of Bluegrass Road, a sandy dirt road in rural South Carolina. Getting all zeros on my GPSr (photo #5) came quite quickly. Photo #1 shows the view west down Bluegrass Road towards the setting sun. A sparse stand of pine trees is seen in photo #2 to the south and the open field of grass across the road to the north is seen in photo #3. Photo #4 to the east with my lengthening shadow shows the nearest house to the confluence in the distance.
