This Visit of a Confluence Point was possible because of a ‘weekend off’ this summer...Well, so I thought what nice to do this Friday afternoon and so it came to my visit of this Confluence Point ‘quite near’ my home. It should be the CP 52°N-11°E, located in the north east of Eilsdorf, Germany.
Approaching from South by taking the B6 and the B79 I reached Halberstadt. Now I had to choose a smaller road, named ‘Huylandstraße’, leading north through the wooded and mountainous region of the Huy. It’s kind of a small mountain range as a municipality of Harz. Only four kilometers north of the Huy the village Eilsdorf appears. Agriculture around is dominating the landscape and so it is not amazing that this CP is located on a field.
Just 150 meters north east from the northern village sign and 50 meters from the road you can find the special location. The picture of location is done 100 meters WSW from the CP. Two further special things are worth to mention. The fruit trees to the west, you can see on pictures from several further visitors, are gone. They were cut only shortly before my visit (don’t know if the stumps are still visible after upload of the panoramic picture of location).
The second interesting point to tell is the medieval execution place 900 meters in the north east. It’s said that they hang up guilty persons on that little rock wall.
This Confluence Point was very easy to reach. The panoramic picture shows direction north in the middle. It was taken from the CP.
