16-Mar-2012 -- On my way to Tiree I could not resist a little detour to Skipton (to buy MORE walking boots) and take in a new confluence.
There is not much I can add to previous narratives about practicalities - the reservoir car park seems to have been recently upgraded and with dry conditions underfoot and bracken at its lowest at this time of year it took just 25 minutes to reach the confluence point.
Note: Barden Moor - on which the confluence was located has been (reasonably) open access land for many years now - a pre-emptive strike by the Duke of Devonshire to prevent the land becoming another mass-trepass flashpoint - but it is still an actively managed grouse moorland and therefore may be closed during the shooting season. There certainly are a LOT of Red Grouse on the moorland this year.
