30-Jun-2003 -- 37N-120W would complete a hat trick or third easy successful confluence of the day, having already completed
39N-122W, then the Jelly Belly factory tour in Fairfield where we picked up a bunch of jelly beans, then 38N-121W.
I wonder what the record number of confluences in a single day is... (we almost made it to 37N-119W today as well but we saved that for the next day on our trip back home).
From Madera, go east on California 145 and this one will be very quick. It is less than 5 miles from CA99 and less
than .3 miles after the left turn off CA145. Round trip from CA99 would be less than 20 minutes.
Following the advice of Gordon Spence, I easily found the house. At first the picture didn't match what I saw but then, following my GPS, I discovered that I needed to go down a nondescript driveway between another house on the left and an orchard on the right. I simply followed it about 100 meters with a slight right turn about half way. The confluence is indeed right on the driveway but still a long ways from the house. I found it very easy to zero out my GPS. The orchard trees have really grown since the previous visit.
Photo 1 looks south down the driveway towards the nice house. Photo 2 shows the gps reading on the driveway. As
I was leaving I saw an older individual wave from the house and I waved back. Off to the east and up the mountains
towards 37N-119W for our next confluence on this trip.
