While on a road trip from Regina, Saskatchewan Canada to Florida to spend Christmas and New Years with our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters, we visited a few confluences. This confluence is near Interstate 25 just north of Denver.

As we drove south on Interstate 25 from Wyoming into Colorado, temperatures fluctuated between 43°F and 61°F. The strong winds we'd experienced in Wyoming had abated. The area was dotted with oil pump jacks. Snow capped mountains, foothills of the Rockies, were in view to the west of the Interstate. The elevation here is about a mile above sea level. At Exit 229 we drove west on busy Baseline Road. A short drive brought us to 105W so we pulled off to park in the ditch. Within moments of getting through the barbed wire fence, we had found the spot and took our photos. The mountains were in view to the west, Baseline Road to the north and farmland to the south. East of the confluence is Thornton, a suburb of Denver.

In the overview photo taken from the south ditch of Baseline Road, litter is visible amongst the weeds, a result of the winds that often whip across this area. Although there was snow on the tops of the mountains, there was no snow on the ground around the confluence.

We headed back to Interstate 25 and continued south through Denver.
