18-Aug-2011 -- Cheryl and I were in Colorado for a family reunion of my cousins, most of whom I had not seen in over 40 years. We came a week early so we could do some vacationing in the beautiful Colorado mountains. On our return trip to Denver from Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park, it was an easy diversion a mile west of I-25 on CO-7 (Baseline road) near Broomfield to the confluence at 40 North 105 West, my first confluence in the state of Colorado.
40N105W is one of the easiest confluences to reach and hence one of the most visited confluences. It can actually be scored from Baseline Road, about 30 meters north of the confluence. I parked our rented SUV on the side of Baseline road and slipped through the barbed wire fence into the hay field to the south. As can be seen in the photos, the hay had been recently cut and put in wind rows to dry. Being out in the open getting all zeros (photo #5) was easy and quick. Photo #1 to the west shows the Rocky Mountains in the distance. Photo #4 to the north shows my rented car parked on Baseline Road and how close to the road the confluence is. What more can you say that hasn’t already been said by 20 other visitors?
