06-Nov-2013 -- Comes from 50°N 5°E.

Been on vacation in Europe to visit my son, as every confluence hunter I took the opportunity and visited 12 Confluences (one incomplete) including one in France not visited so far.

We left 50°N 5°E in Belgium at 4:10 pm on 5 November 2013 with target to 50°N 6°E in Luxembourg. We were not sure to arrive in daylight since the pathways that we would take were secondary, with lots of curves and low speed limit. We reached the E411 motorway and then the E25, always moving towards the East and in the surroundings of Bestogne changed to N874 road. We passed the town of Longville and crossed the border into Luxembourg.

Already in Luxembourg, the road N874 becomes N20 and then we took the N12. It was already dark enough and was evident that because of the still remaining just 18 km we would not arrive with sufficient sunlight to take photos at the Confluence. We had booked a hotel near 50°N 6°E because we knew that even if we got to visit this Confluence, the tour today was long and if in case we not managed to arrive at this Confluence in the first day, we would be nearby to visit and not have to alter too much the plan of the 2nd day. That is why we had booked a hotel in Pommerloch, where we rested peacefully after a good dinner.

On 6 November 2013 we woke up well early, we had breakfast and left the hotel, bound for the Confluence that awaited us since yesterday. The temperature was still in the 4°C and soft rain persisted. We passed the town of Whiltz, then Wilwerwiltz, and finally Enscherange. I took a path of stones, climbing the mountain, while the ugly car that we had behaved very well. I was not very sure that this road would take me to the Confluence, but my GPS indicated that we were very close, then we reached a narrow but asphalted road and rejoiced to see the famous confluence monument.

I parked the car and walked to the Confluence doing the glorious dance of the confluence with a faint drizzle, barely 3°C temperature and a strong breeze which made it feel even colder. I took photos of rigor and returned to the car to proceed with today´s plan of hunting 3 Confluences. If it hadn't been so cold and we weren't so short of time, we would have spent more time enjoying the beautiful view that has this Confluence.

.

Confluence hunting sequence continues at 50°N 7°E.
