27-Mar-2009 -- Today it's my birthday, so the obvious thing seemed to be to celebrate by doing a confluence visit to my "home" point. I have of course been here several times before, but it is only 40 minutes away.
I had warned Rachel that there may well be livestock in the field, but apparently that was "ok". As we pulled up I spotted a flock of sheep...
Open the gate and walk into the field, as soon as the sheep spot us, over they come, ALL of them. Wonder if they thought we were going to feed them. As we walked down towards the CP I saw that their feeding troughs were right by the spot.
The sheep were running in circles all around us, when we got the point, it was like being in a Wallace & Grommit film.
On the way back I showed Rachel Stowe School, apparently the Beatles once played there and Richard Branson went there as did David Niven. The grounds contain 40 listed monuments, the history of the place is a fascinating read.
Oh yes, my birthday, how old? if you look at the pictures....
